In less than 48 hours a group of 6 volunteers will be leaving GAGA headquarters for South Africa. The group is made up of three women and three men. Helen Moira and Mark are all from Scotland. Helen and Moira are both district nurses and will be volunteering at 1000 Hills Community Helpers during their two week stay. Mark will be working with Alan and Barry (a skilled builder) on the new dormitory at Ithemablihle. Liz, Barry’s partner will also be helping out at 1000 Hills Community Helpers and First Step Right Low Primary School. They will be joined by Charlie, GAGA’s director. Charlie will be visiting existing GAGA projects and new prospective projects during his stay. However, whenever necessary they will all work on completing the dormitory for the children at Ithembalihle. During their two week stay Charlie and the other volunteers will regularly update this blog and the GAGA website.
